Cultural City Tour

 

Mongolia evocates images of empty meadows, wild horses and valiant knights, it's indeed, a magical place, still spared by mass tourism, a country of nature and welcoming people. For decades, Mongolia was sealed off from the rest of the world, but it has opened up recently and promises a unique adventure time in a land of untouched culture and undisturbed nature. Experience its mysterious deserts, endless steppes, tundra forests, mountains and crystal clear lakes and discover a rich and ancient nomadic cultural heritage dating from the times of Genghis Khan.

Day 1 - Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

- Arrive at Ulaanbaatar International Airport, meet your guide and private transfer to your hotel.
- Depending on arrival time we will go for a city sightseeing tour.
- Dinner and overnight in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 2 - Ulaanbaatar: Children’s Orphanage

- Visit the Children’s Orphanage Center, play with the children and take part in a variety of activities throughout the day.
Today the students will have a great opportunity to give some time to the orphan children.
- Dinner and overnight in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 3 - Batsumber village: Old Age home

- Drive to Batsumber village (about 2 hours drive) to visit the Old Age Home as we would like to bring some humor into the elderly lives. Sketches, songs and typical dances can be improvised by your students.
- Drive back to the capital city for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - Ulaanbaatar: Special needs School

- Spend the day at a special needs school.
The project will be defined later on: painting rooms, planting trees and vegetables, teaching English, etc.
- Dinner and overnight in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 5 - Dugana

- Drive to Dugana (about 2hrs drive), located at the right side of a unique formation of the Nature-temple shaped huge rock called Dugana, in the picturesque meadow valley of Erdene forest mountain. - En route, we will stop at an Ovoo, a sacred stone heap used as altar or shrine in Mongolian folk religious practice.
- Upon arrival at the camp, we will have lunch and experience on archery shooting and horseback riding.
- Mongolian BBQ “Khorkhog”, bonfire party and overnight in ger.

Day 6 - Dugana & Nomadic family

- Visit a nomadic family to experience their way of life and taste homemade horse and cow milk products.
- Lunch at the camp before you have some free time to explore the surroundings.
- Travel back to Ulaanbaatar for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 - Ulaanbaatar's main attractions

- Enjoy a full city tour day and see the main monuments: Sukhbaatar square, the central part of Ulaanbaatar, Gandan monastery and the National history museum.
- Drive to Zaisan Hill to view whole panorama of the city.
- Gala dinner with Mongolian Traditional performance.

Day 8 - Departure

- Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
